receiver gain in siemens trio |
Hi, we measured a phantom with two receiver gain option: LOW and HIGH (available from parameters).
We would like to calculate the difference in signal intensity, but unfortunately the rda files headers do not contain any information about the receiver gain value.
Does anyone have a clue how I could find the receiver gain value?
Thanks.

I had MRI of the femur and pelvis. Can you explain abnormal findings:
"Marrow signal abnormality in the metaphysis and diaphysis of both femora without lesion. Possible red marrow conversion".
Specifics of MRI show:
MRI shows patchy low T1 and high T2 marrow signal in meta and diaphysis in both femur. At mid diaphyseal level, curvilinear bright T2 and STIR signal noted in the intramedullary cavity. No lesion noticed.
Thanks for any insight. Is there another website I could use for more information?

door alarm/ MRI pauses if door opens |
MRIs are enclosed by a Faraday cage to shield the MRI scanner against incoming radio waves which would disturb the sent and received signals. The reception or transmission of radio waves is heavily attenuated or blocked by the cage, which is usually integrated in the walls of the scanning room. The closed RF door completes the cage preventing RFI/EMI leakage, absorbs also much of the acoustic noise and prevents unauthorized persons to enter the room. Usually, all or the unreconstructed part of information is lost if the scan is stopped by door opening. Some MRI systems allow to pause the scan (at the keyboard, not by door opening) and to continue scanning while not loosing data.

I work on GE excite open speed. On lumbar spine t2 axials, it appears like the coil looses signal and makes image dark and grainy. The coil gives good signal on the other sequences and tests good when engineer has tested it. The sag t2 is bright like it should but ax is dark. Any ideas why?

MRI artifact |
Hi. I have recently been experiencing an artifact on a STIR sequence (GE Signa HDxT 3.0T) using a HD CTL spine Coil. I'm am not fully understanding what could be happening here. One MRI technologist thought it was a corduroy artifact due to RF leak, but I'm not 100% sure there was RF leak, at least from the door, as it was closed completely.
