Machine Opening artifact
Does anyone know anything about the artifact created by the opening of the MR. I know it is do to bending in the magnetic feild, but is there any solutions, like a simple image transform? Or is there a specific name for this problem that I could research more?

Improving MEDIC/MERGE/M-ffe and GRE/FFE image quality
Hi,
Sequences with multiple echoes are unfortunately sensitive to motion and flow artifacts, with the mFFE the echoes are still cumulated afterwards. The use of the head-neck coil provides better SNR. Important are good flow compensation, rest slab, try out foldover direction l/r vs. a/p. Shimming may help, synergy is sometimes better as clear, don't take too many slices, but maybe the signal loss is also a technical problem. Problems in the lung region are common. In short, we use 2D T2 TSE with continuous flow comp.

GE 8 channel Body Coil Artifact
It is hard to see the exact artifact in this picture. It almost looks like wrap to me, but again hard to determine with pic provided. What else has been done to fix this issue? Have you changed the frequency direction or opened up your FOV?

Try running a B1 Map followed by Calibration. Set RF Drive mode to Optimized. This is supposed to optimize for your Patient. Supposed to reduce dielectric effect/shading for Lumbar and Abdomen.
You can find under GE Additional Abdomen Sequences.

Or you can run Ideal with Dixon technique. Turn on IN phase will give you T1 FS & IN Phase is you plane T1. I believe this takes care of the artifact.

ACR BREAST IMAGING
RECENTLY FAILED ACR FOR BREAST IMAGING.
I AM LOOKING FOR A GE SITE FOR ADVICE.
WE HAVE A GE 1.5T HDXT SYSTEM USING 15 XM4 SOFTWARE. OUR COIL IS A GE LIBERTY 9000 8 CHANNEL COIL.
IF YOU HAVE PASSED THE ACR WITH THIS EQUIPMENT AND DO NOT MIND SHARING INFORMATION, WE WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU.
ACR REVIEWER REASONS FOR FAILING WAS GHOSTING, CHEMICAL SHIFT ARTIFACT, AND INHOMOGENOUS FAT SAT.
THANKS,
MIKE RT(R)(MR)
