Thank You,

Please excuse me But how should the silicon scout look?
What other sequences should I run to complete the protocol, and will the other sequences be affected by the scanner tunning to silicone instead of water?

Protection Against Noise
I usually place 2 pieces of sponge on the outside of the ear and tape them so they stay in place. It's not as effective as earplugs or headphones but it dampens the noise so the baby does not get full effect.

Impact of contrast materials on the Diffusion weighted imaging
Hello all,
I'm looking for the articles regarding effects of contrast materials and especially SPIO and USPIO on DW imaging. Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,

Whole Body Scan MRI
Can anyone tell me what FOV is used on a 2 year old whole body scan? , On an adult whole body scan ? , and how many table moving stations are needed for an adult whole body scan? I am doing a coronal Stir,T1 FFE coronal and a SSFSE T2W coronal.

Neil,

I think you're talking about the edges of the shimmed volume of the magnet, or the coil.

Magnets are shimmed to a specific volume in the field (every model magnet is different). When you attempt to scan an object that reaches the edge of this volume you will see distortion from imaging the unshimmed area of the magnet.

Also shimming large objects that exceed the range of the receiver portion of the coil will cause distortions.

Hopefully this answers your question?

Good Luck,
Dan McGuan
