why there is T2* but not T1*
often we heared about T2* but not much of T1*. i heard about T1* before correction in T1 mapping, but i guess that is different than T2 and T2* which have diffirent methods to acquire them. any comments on this is much appreciated

i may just be giving general info but a t2* is aquired from a gradient echo compared to a t2 with a spin echo. according to mri in practice a t2* can help show some things a normal t2 would not, such as ms plaques in a cervical spine

i just reread your question and realize what you are saying, i was told we dont use a t1* becuase generally a t1 sequence isnt a pathological sequence unless it is post contrast.
